DX Unified Infrastructure Management (Nimsoft / UIM)

There are many devices in our CA UIM device inventory where the name of the device does not match the actual server name.

We have a server with a hostname but it is showing up with the FQDN listed in DNS.  There is no hostname alias in DNS.

Can you please advise how I can rename the device to the actual server name?

vmware probe was unable to determine the hostname for the device via DNS when the device was discovered.

Release : 20.3

Component : UIM - VMWARE

  1. Add DNS alias for the hostname
  2. Delete device from inventory
  3. Rediscover device
