Datacom Multi-User startup fails with error messages

DB00242E - REQUIRED ENQ NOT AVAILABLE, MUFNAME=xxxxxxx
DB00205E - MULTI-USER ERROR - 0004  MUFNAME=xxxxxxx

What does this mean and how to correct?

Release: 14.0 and above

Cause

The error message DB00242E REQUIRED ENQ NOT AVAILABLE, MUFNAME=xxxxxxx indicates that the Multi-User may not enable (start up) because another Multi-User is currently executing with the same identity.

Resolution

Same identity means same MUF logical name.

This is the name as coded in Multi-User startup SYSIN card MUF or the MUFNAME as coded in DBSIDPR TARGET_MUF_LIST=(mufname) .

In order to be able to enable the Multi-User, wait until the current Multi-User has been shut down or start the Multi-User using a different unique MUF logical name.
