Issue/Introduction
Entering the command CTRANSUM from a SYSVIEW task on an lpar with NO CICS regions, this generates the IXG231I message below: IXG231I IXGCONN REQUEST=CONNECT TO LOG STREAM NOT.DEFINED DID NOT 893 SUCCEED FOR JOB SYSVUSP1. RETURN CODE: 00000008 REASON CODE: 0000080B DIAG1: 00000000 DIAG2: 00000000 DIAG3: 00000000 DIAG4:00000000 likewise running the command from a job using the API the errors in the operlog are: ICH408I USER(XXXXXXXX) GROUP(X975 ) NAME(XXXXXXXX) 871 NOT.DEFINED CL(LOGSTRM ) INSUFFICIENT ACCESS AUTHORITY ACCESS INTENT(READ ) ACCESS ALLOWED(NONE ) IXG231I IXGCONN REQUEST=CONNECT TO LOG STREAM NOT.DEFINED DID NOT 872 SUCCEED FOR JOB TTMXGHZP. RETURN CODE: 00000008 REASON CODE: 0000080D DIAG1: 00000008 DIAG2: 00000000 DIAG3: 03010000 DIAG4: 00000000
Resolution
Using the REXX clist, issuing the CICSLIST command first and insure that there is at least one CICS region with a STATUS of ACTIVE prior to issuing the CTRANSUM command.
