Issue/Introduction

Mail delivery fails to the Messaging Gateway and the messages are rejected with the response "Client host rejected: Access denied".

Cause

The response "Client host rejected: Access denied" occurs when Messaging Gateway mail acceptance for the queue is using a Mail Acceptance configuration (Access Control List).

Resolution

Modify or disable the Mail Acceptance list to allow the connecting IP:

  1. Click on Administration at top
  2. Click on Configuration in the left pane
  3. Edit the target scanner
  4. Click on the SMTP tab
  5. Make sure the Mail Acceptance configurations for Inbound and/or Outbound have appropriate settings configured.
