When is the backup executed?  Or under what circumstances?  Can I run the backup when I want?

Resolution

SYSPLEX variables are continuously backed up in real time to the shared VSAM KSDS file designated by the PLEXVARDSN parm upon creation or update of the variables.

The purpose of Sysplex Variable backup is to provide a continuously updated snapshot of variable contents so that in the event of a complete sysplex shutdown, accurate, up to date values can be restored as they were at the time the sysplex was shut down.

 

Sysplex Variable Backup and Restore is an automated process dictated by its associated OPS parms and cannot be invoked manually.
