RAI License Installation Instructions for legacy versions (prior to version 20).
Note: Version 20 now runs on LMP Keys. To view LMP key installation instructions, navigate to Installing Mainframe LMP keys.
Prior to installing any RAI product, follow the instructions below to define product keys and to startup the RAI Server Address Space.
NOTE 1: RAI Server is not an independent product but a component that provides common services to various RAI products. Unlike program products, it does not require license keys.
NOTE 2: If RAI Server is up and running you can skip the following four steps and proceed directly to step (6).
Download and install the RAI Server software.
Authorize the RAI Server load library (the dataset whose low level qualifier is RSVLOAD).
Customize the JCL in member RAI0 of the RSVCNTL library.
Then copy the customized startup procedure for RAI Server into one of your installation's catalogued procedure libraries.
/START RAI0
You should see the following messages in the JES message log associated with the RAI0 address space:RSV263I - RAI Server parameters being read from member PARMS of DDNAME RSVCNTL
RSV500I - RAI Server Version v Release r Modification m Level A1
RSV501I - (c) Relational Architects Intl - All rights reserved.
/F RAI0,PASSWORD REFRESH
Check whether the product keys are installed correctly by issuing the following MVS console command on each z/OS system where RAI Server is active:
/F RAI0,PASSWORD DISPLAY
RAI Server should respond with the following messages:
RAI226I - Active Relational Architects Products
RAI227I - Product: SRS - SMART/RESTART Version: C10 - Status: VERIFIED
NOTE: Within the context of these instructions the terms z/OS system, system image and LPAR are synonymous.
The RAI Server Installation and Operations Guide (publication RSV-001) describes these topics in detail.
