SEP 14.3 RU3 Linux Agent does not apply definitions from LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x

Issue/Introduction

SEP 14.3 RU3 introduced an additional feature (Total Cloud Protection) which needs to be either disabled, or an additional set of definitions needs to be configured, in order to update definitions from LiveUpdate Administrator.

Environment

SEP 14.3 RU3 and above

Resolution

Starting SEP 14.3 RU3 an additional feature was introduced (Total Cloud Protection) which needs to be either disabled, or an additional set of definitions needs to be configured, in order to update definitions from LiveUpdate Administrator.

 

Solution 1:

To disable Total Cloud Protection, please:

1. Go to your SEPM > Policies > Virus and Spyware Protection 
2. Select the policy applied to your Linux Agents
3. Go to Linux Settings > Global Scan Options 
4. Uncheck "Enable Total Cloud Protection"

 

 

Solution 2:

To configure the additional set of definitions, please make sure to download and distribute the following content: Client - SymPlatform Definitions TCP (Linux)
