Issue/Introduction

After installing Pointfixes, PMIMport is failing very quickly.

Error in the logs:

Unable to manage the distribution points under user [Domain\User] for package: 'Patch Windows System Assessment Scan Tool Package' (6d417916-467c-46a7-a870-6d86d9345b61)

 

Access to path '\\?\D:\Program Files\Altiris\Patch Management\packages\windowsvulnerabilityscan\Temp' has been denied.

Environment

Release : 8.6 RU1

Cause

There was a non-default folder (Temp) in the Windows Vulnerability scan which the assessment scan could not access.  

Resolution

Delete the Temp folder (or any not built in folder) other than:

Make sure "Authenticated Users" have appropriate permissions of the 'Altiris' and 'Altiris\Patch Management\packages\windowsvulnerabilityscan' folders:
