Upgrade MOM from APM 10.5 to 10.7 using a Silent install Response file

Issue/Introduction

Upgrade Process:

• Silent install is the only option.
• /opt/Introscope is the only location can be installed.
• /opt is 8gb size limit , cannot be increased by corporate policy. 

After setting tmpdir, I still get the same error  (export tmpdir=/opt/Introscope/install_tmpdir):

 Insufficient Free Space to backup APM

                          Status: ERROR

                          Additional Notes: ERROR - Please ensure that there is an additional free space of at least 59.8 GB

 

$ df -h .

Filesystem                        Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on

/dev/mapper/appvg-opt_introscope  150G   42G  109G  28% /opt/Introscope

 

So, I need 170 gig of free space to do the install?

Environment

Release : 10.7.0

Component :

Cause

Upgrade process still tries to create, /opt/Introscope/Introscope_New   and     /opt/Introscope/Introscope_Old folders. 

Which is not allowed per customer corporate policy. 

Resolution

upgrade the EM manually.
