Issue/Introduction

We have this test configured on UI where we trying to measure response time breakdowns.

One of line item is DNS lookup time, just wondering if you cache ip address of our endpoint in your DNS server?

If yes, what TTL (Time of Live) for that cache i.e. after how many minutes/hours you will refresh your cache to see if ip address the change for endpoint?

If not, is there way in UI to enable DNS caching in your DNS server for my tests?

Environment

Release : SAAS

Resolution

For customers utilizing our internal Runscope agents and they are trying to determine the default TTL that we utilize for our DNS caching is 30 seconds, which the default value is “TTL=30”.

If the client utilizing their own remote agents, the DNS caching is not enabled; since the client controls this DNS caching in their environments.
