Auditlog and Systemevents tables at or near 100% utilization

Issue/Introduction

The customer has noted a number of tables in the USER tablespace are running at 100%, for example auditlog and systemevents are both at 100%.

 

Resolution

The auditlog and systemevents tables among others will generally run at close to 100% utilization because we never remove data from these tables and therefore they will grow in perpetuity. It should be noted that these tables will normally account for a fraction of the overall space used in the users tablespace. As long as the users tablespace has ample spare capacity these tables will be able to grow and expand as required, if users tablespace is running close to max utilization then the recommendation would be to add additional tablespace and/or perform a purge of incident data.
