Resolution

Office 365 and Office 2019 is currently not supported by the ITCM Patch Management.

You could see the list of supported Patch content here :

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/business-management/clarity-client-automation/14-0/supported-patch-content.html

Patch Manager does not support the patching of Office365 and Office 2019.
This is because it uses a proprietary method based on Windows Express OS Updates (which Microsoft have since stopped using for OS patches).

Office 365 and 2019 could be patched using the Office Deployment Toolkit (ODT).

See :

There are two ways to make the updates:

- Use the ODT to install Microsoft 365 Apps again, which will update Office to the newest version. Only the files that have changed in the new version will be updated.

- Use the ODT to download the Office installation files and then point your client computers to that location to receive their updates. (By default, clients are updated directly from the Office Content Delivery Network (CDN).)

The office install media is nearly 4GB so its only practical to do this if Software Delivery is configured to use NOS (File Shares), that way the setup program uses a delta and only copies the files that are needed.
