Issue/Introduction

We are seeing alarms from dns_response in UMP, but when we look at the alarms on the robot where the dns_response probe is deployed, that robot has no alarms.

Instead the alarms are associated to the device monitored by the probe.

is it possible to change this behavior, and configure the probe in any way, so the alarms be associated to the robot with the probe?

Cause

This is not possible at the moment.

L2 have checked internally, and they confirmed that currently such functionality,  to make dns_response probe to  generate an alarm on the robot where the probe is deployed instead of the monitored DNS host device, does Not exist.

Environment

Release : 20.1

Component : UIM - DNS_RESPONSE

Resolution

This is the expected behavior.
The alarm generated by dns_response will be generated on the monitored device and not on the robot monitoring that device with dns_response.
