Issue/Introduction

When trying to create an organization with 5 levels with Greek names, the fifth level produces an error:

Failed to create managed object ObjectType: :ORGANIZATION with unique name ou=level 5,ou=level 4,ou=level 3,ou=level 2,ou=level 1,ou=im,ou=ca,o=com Error message from the directory: [LDAP: error code 32 - No Such Object]

For example:

Base Level -
im

Level 1 -

When trying to create Level 5 it fails.

Level 5 -

Cause

The problem is caused by access control rights in CA Directory.  Dxserver puts a limitation on the DN size. When access control is enabled, if the current DN size is greater than 391,  dxserver does not allow it to to create a relative DN (RDN) under it.

Note: DN size is computed by encoding the attributes and number of characters for the value of the attributes. DN size will be close to the number of characters in DN but may not be exactly equal to the number of characters in the DN.

If the current DN (Distinguished Name) size is less than 391, then we can create an RDN (Relational Distinguished Name), we do not see any issues

Environment

Release : 14.4

Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)
