CA 7 doesnt send emails when job abends

Issue/Introduction

When job abends, we get this message and CA 7 is not sending out emails : 

CAL2E015E COULD NOT CONNECT TO SMTP SERVER                          

 

 

Resolution

Run the Email Test Utility supplied in CAL2JCL library member name is AL2EMAIL.

The output from this utility will provide more details of  returned Trace Codes.

In this case, CAL2E008I TCP/IP FUNCTION CONNECT IPV4 RETCODE=-00000001 ERRNO=00000061 

The error implies the connection is refused.  It was established that the IP address of the SMTP Server was incorrect
