Issue/Introduction

Some of the file systems are showing as unavailable in cdm.  The server doesn't show this.

cdm logs showed the following information

<timestamp> cdm: Found FS /<filesystemname> on device /dev/mapper/<devicename> type ext4
<timestamp> cdm: FS does not have a device specified /<filesystemname>
<timestamp> cdm: CheckDiskInfo - Skipping hidden disk /<filesystemname>

Environment

Release : UIM  20.4
Component : UIM - CDM WITH IOSTAT
cdm 6.50, 6.70

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.9 (Maipo)

Cause

Configuration corruption.  Configuration determined that the devices were hidden, but the server did not indicate this.

Resolution

Issue was resolved by doing the following:

In cdm probe config GUI,

  1. right click on a file system showing the problem
  2. select delete (this will not delete the filesystem, but only delete the cdm configuration for this filesystem)
  3. click apply (this will restart the probe and allow the filesystem to be rediscovered)

After the cdm probe restarts, wait a few minutes and allow the probe to refresh to determine if the filesystem is properly rediscovered.  Then check to confirm that the filesystem is showing as available and can be monitored.
