Spool Java Transformers - Project files not readable/corrupted

Issue/Introduction
Trying to configure JAVA Transformers but having problems trying to edit files in the /apps USS directory.
The issue is with the parameter files in USS which is in not readable format ( for example A2Px.d2eproj) .
Environment
Release : 14.0
Component : OM Spool
Cause
The Java Transformers files in the USS directories are in ASCII format
Resolution
You need to edit the files in ASCII format. For example, if using the ISPF panel 3.17 use the "EA" (Edit ASCII) line command.
