I am upgrading View from v12.2 to v14.0, so I created a test database and test SARSTC for the testing, from an existing production database.
What I noticed is, when I started the test SARSTC task, it attempted to uncatalog a tape dataset from the production database:
ICH408I USER(VIEWSTC ) GROUP(STCGRP ) NAME(CA VIEW SANDBOX STC )
VIEW.SYSTEM1.SARTAPE.T0002059 CL(DATASET ) VOL(AA9999)
INSUFFICIENT ACCESS AUTHORITY
FROM VIEW.VXS2%%%%.SARTAPE.T*.** (G)
ACCESS INTENT(ALTER ) ACCESS ALLOWED(READ )
Will this tape get successfully uncataloged/deleted when the next PROD backup happens?
Will there be any issue with respect to the PROD database?
Release : 14.0
Component : CA View
The client, unadvisedly, copied a production database as the basis for a test database.
In running the SARSTC task and running a backup, the test database wanted to expire a tape it owned in tandem with the production database, but security did not allow it to do so.
Do NOT, under any circumstance, copy a valid, active database to another database, as both databases would own the same tapes and, as in this case, the test database could expire a tape owned by the production database.
