Issue/Introduction

Planning to upgrade Db2 for z/OS to new version or mode.  It is known that the SETUPxx member in hlq.CDBAPARM  must be updated
with new SSIDVERF and/or SSIDVERC information and then perform the Post Install steps Compare Db2 Objects, Create Required Db2 Objects,
and Bind Product Packages and Plans.

Question is will the Database Management for Db2 for z/OS products work when a Db2 upgrade is performed
and the SETUPxx member is not updated and the required Post Install tasks are not executed?
Can the required Post Install tasks for a Db2 version upgrade be executed a few days later?

Resolution

Updating the SETUPxx member with the new SSIDVERF and/or SSIDVERC information, Compare Db2 Objects,
Create Required Db2 Objects, and execute Bind tasks are all part of the upgrade to a new version or mode of Db2.
These steps must be done as a part of the Db2 upgrade process to guarantee that the Db2 tools will work as designed.
Performing the required Post Install tasks a few days later is not recommended.
