Issue/Introduction

Getting message:

CAT9014I CA TLMS - ALL CPU SLOTS FULL IN CONTROL RECORD

at startup of CTS. As per the Message Guide more than eight unique CPU IDs have been encountered, which exceeds the maximum number of CPUs supported. Since the VMF is shared between 6 LPARs only, there must be obsolete entries in the control record. How to identify these obsolete entries and how to remove them ?

Resolution

1. Execute PROC TLMS.CTAPPROC(CATVMFID) and check the CONTROL CPU= statement in report TLMS046 for obsolete CPUs.

2. Remove the obsolete CPU ID's from TLMS.CATOPTN(TLMSIDCK) member.

3. Execute PROC TLMS.CTAPPROC(CATVMFSC) using the newly modified TLMS.CATOPTN(TLMSIDCK) member as input to update the VMF control record with the new CPU information.
