In Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS suite of tools Health Check services are integrated with IBM Health Checker for z/OS.
Via the Health Checker Common Service, several health checks are performed automatically when Xmanager is started.
Within the Xmanager started task output there are the messages indicating the Health Checker started and ended:
GEN0901 CA-DB2 Tools Health Checker task attached GEN0911 CA-DB2 Tools Health Checker interface initialization in progress GEN0912 CA-DB2 Tools Health Checker interface initialization complete
... GEN0913 CA-DB2 Tools Health Checker interface termination in progress GEN0914 CA-DB2 Tools Health Checker interface termination complete
How do you display and manage Health Checks for the Db2 suite of tools?
Customization and display of the Database Management Solutions for DB2 for z/OS product health checks must be done through the
IBM Health Checker itself not through any Db2 product feature. Please reference the IBM Health Checker for z/OS User Guide for additional
details on how to manage health checks. The Db2 for z/OS health check owner is CA_DB2. The check name depends on the individual
check performed for each DB2 for z/OS product. For example, SYSVIEW for Db2 (Former Insight Performance Monitor for DB2 for z/OS)
check names start with DB2_IDB2_* or RC/Migrator for Db2 for z/OS check names start with DB2_RCM_*.
If you have a license for SYSVIEW for z/OS then you can display and update health check parameters with SYSVIEW commands.
For example, with HCHECKER (HC) command you will display all health checks performed in the LPAR, with HCHECKER CA_DB2
command you will display only the health checks performed for the Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS products.
