Issue/Introduction

How can I get the "virtual slot" value of 9,999,999 assigned for virtual Dell/EMC volumes for vault management?

Environment

Release : 14.0

Component : CA 1 Tape Management

Cause

N/A

Resolution

The TMC ROBTY field of the Volume records need to be set to x'89' (VEMC)  (this can be done either manually via the TMSUPDTE utility, or when volumes are entered, and using a modified CBRUXENT exit which sets this robot type).
When the volumes are processed by vault management, the tape vault slot numbers will be set to a dummy value of 9,999,999 ("virtual slot").
