Issue/Introduction

You are running Governance Minder 12.6 on JBOSS.

The database is SQL Server on separate server.

You are going to move the database from one server to another i.e. the database would be migrated to a new server.

Now, what needs to be done at the application end to point to the new server?

Resolution

  1. Stop Governance Minder / JBoss Service

  2. Edit the standalone-full.xml file and update datasource references via <connection-url> to point to the new hostname for all databases. The file is typically located under <JBOSS_HOME>\standalone\configuration\

  3. Start Governance Minder / JBoss Service

  4. Confirm Governance Minder starts as expected. Property settings have been updated with the new hostname ( ticketdb.host / sdb.host)
