Quarantined message remediation does not work using integration with DLP 15.8 or newer

Issue/Introduction

Remediation of messages does not function correctly when using Messaging Gateway (SMG) quarantine and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) 15.8 or newer with Cloud SMTP Detect.

Release : 10.7.4

Component : Quarantine

Cause

The SMG connector was designed for on-premises Email Prevent forwarding to SMG and not Cloud Detection Service (CDS) forwarding to SMG.

DLP 15.8 added quarantine features for CDS when it added an integration option with Email Security.cloud Email Quarantine (ESS).

 

Resolution

Email detection via Cloud SMTP Detection to have quarantine features must be integrated with ESS.

Email detection via Email Prevent to have quarantine features must be integrated with SMG.
