SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for DB2 for z/OS Database Management for DB2 for z/OS - Performance Suite

Issue/Introduction

IQL exceptions to cancel threads based on specific criteria is working.  How to send an email when this exception is triggered using a destination group.  Is there anything else that needs to be done outside of Sysview for DB2? For example, when sending an email, is there anything needed to be set up for SMTP to receive this email? When sending an SNMP trap, it talks about a MiB that needs to be compiled and loaded into the system monitoring application.  Is there more documentation on what this is and what the SNMP trap does?  Which system monitoring system application is the documentation talking about?  Is there anything that needs to be defined in CAIENF?

Environment

Release : 20.0

Component : CA SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for DB2 for z/OS

Resolution

Performance Management Option for DB2 for z/OS MIB file describes the structure of data sent through SNMP protocol to distributed clients. So If SNMP client imports our MIB file, it sees the information about specific exception events(type, metric, severity, raised value, etc...). Otherwise it is just binary data without a context. It is still valid and valuable if you use products bases on SNMP. This piece is only needed if SNMP traps are generated by the exception  system.
