Issue/Introduction

Looking for a Security Role that will allow a user to create and run tasks (scripts – quick delivery etc.) on servers/(clients) without giving full admin privileges. The error being seen is:

You don't have one or more of the permissions "'RunScript' (7A8CA359-02FE-465C-9BD5-66CB373D39500" on these computers ...

Unable to find the "Runscript" permission in the Security Role Manager.

The NS log shows a message like this:

Resolution

In order to fix this type of error, you need to verify that "RunScript" permission is selected at least in those two places:

1. Under the SMP Console > Settings > Security > Security Role Manager, select the desired Security role. The "RunScript" permission is found in the Security Role Manager under "Task Server Permissions" as seen here:
   
   
   
   
2. Also, this Security role needs to have this "RunScript" permission under "Task Server Permissions" for the computers that this role has access to. Again, under Security Role Manager, select the desired Security Role, go to View:Resources > Resource Management > Organizational Views > Default > All Resources > Asset > Network Resource > Computer as shown below.
