During the boot sequence, when starting services, you see messages like this:
Starting the Symantec Encryption Server replication service:
Out of memory: Kill process 8077 (java) score 3 or sacrifice child
Symantec Encryption Management Server release 3.4.2 and below.
Encryption Management Server release 3.4.2 and below supports a maximum of 32 processor threads.
For example, if each processor has 10 cores and hyperthreading is enabled, on a 2 processor system there will be 20 cores and 40 threads. This will cause services not to start with an erroneous Out of memory error.
Depending on the number of processors and processor cores, turning off hyperthreading in BIOS may resolve this.
