Issue/Introduction

How to configure http Netops Portal behind an https F5 load balancer.

The F5 will hamdle the https requests, where the Netops Portal will reamin configured for http.

Environment

DX Netops Performance Management 3.7, 20.2, 21.2

Resolution

1) There are two required ports, 8181 (console) and 8381 (sso), these are the default ports when using http if you have not changed them.

2) If the F5 is https and the Netops Portal is http you would likely need to do the following using the /opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/sso/bin/SsoConfig tool, using Remote Value:

1. DX Netops
3. Performance Center
1. Remote Value
7. Web Site Host: <===== Set this to the hostname of the F5
6. Web Site Scheme: <=== Set this to https

1. DX Netops
4. Single Sign-On
1. Remote Value
12. Scheme: <==== Set this to https

This would be so that links in emails such as emailed reports, notifications are correct (otherwise they would go directly to the Netops Portal, not the load balancer), and also when you log into the console on port 8181, it will bounce you over to 8381, and as the load balancer is https, it would need to use that as its protocol.
