NetMaster Network Management for TCP/IP

Issue/Introduction

Netmaster task randomly stops its Health checks with the following messages:

CAHC433E Check encountered an internal error RC=16 RSN=646
HZS1002E CHECK(CA_NM,NM_WEB_PORT@NETMASTR): 740
AN ERROR OCCURRED, DIAG: 00000010_80000002
HZS1002E CHECK(CA_NM,NM_SOCKETS@NETMASTR): 741
AN ERROR OCCURRED, DIAG: 00000010_80000002

Environment

Release : 12.2

Component : NetMaster For TCP/IP

Cause

These errors usually occur because of a timeout problem.

Resolution

Possible solutions/workarounds:

  • Check if the NetMaster region is running with the appropriate WLM class and dispatching priority (DP). See System-level Tuning section of CA NETMASTER® SHARED CONTENT LIBRARY 12.2
  • Refresh all the checks for the region that got the error:
MODIFY hcheck,REFRESH,CHECK=(CA_NM,*@region)  where hcheck is the Health Check started task and region is the affected NetMaster task name.
  • If the Health Checks for the region are not actually used, you could disable them via XOPT=NOHC parameter (see How to stop Solve:Operations to run Health Check article).
