Access for seeing timesheets of reportees

Issue/Introduction

We have a scenario where a senior manager has several managers reporting to him. These managers in turn have several employees who fill timesheets. The senior manager wants to gain access to timesheets of all the employees who report to his managers. How do we provide access rights to fulfil this requirement?

Resolution

Access Rights can be provided through OBS to fulfil this requirement. "Resource - Approve Time" and "Resource - Enter Time" can be provided for the senior manager's account. OBS access rights are accessible at Admin -> Resources -> {Senior Manager's user account} -> Resource's Access Rights -> OBS Unit.

If the entire pool of resources in an OBS Unit is not managed by this manager, then you can also provide instance rights over specific resources. "Resource - Enter Time" and "Resource - Approve Time" access rights are also available as Instance Rights. Instance Rights can be configured at Admin -> Resources -> {Senior Manager's user account} -> Resource's Access Rights -> Instance.
