ORA-00020: maximum number of processes exceeded

Issue/Introduction

UIM data_engine, qos_processor, and other data connecting probes start working after a period of time. Looking at the Oracle database side the following is found:

ORA-00020: maximum number of processes exceeded 

Environment

Release : All

Component : UIM - DATA_ENGINE

Resolution

The HA server had HA shutdown, but the data_engine on that host was running, which should not be running. The data_engine should only run on one host in an UIM domain. If using the HA probe than start it back up. If not using HA any longer make sure the data_engine is no longer running on the HA hub.
