Issue/Introduction

Question about recovery from changing RULESET or PROCESS.

After RULESET or PROCESS was changed and needs to recovery from the change because it does not meet the requirements, are there any other requirements other than restarting SOLVE with RAMDB backed up by DFDSS ?

The SOLVE has FOCAL and SUBORDINATE.

Environment

Release : All

Component : SOLVE:OPERATIONS

Resolution

There are no other requirements to use backed up RAMDB.
After you shutdown SOLVE, DFDSS can be used to backup RAMDB.

Local resources are maintained between FOCAL and each SUBORDINATE.
Global resources are maintained among SOLVE systems.

In FOCAL and SUBORDINATE environment, when both SOLVEs are active, the resource modification is updated on both RAMDB. In case just one of RAMDB in FOCAL or SUBORDINATE is restored from backup, one has the update information and another has no update information. Since there are no update information in RAMDBs between backup and current, SOLVE does not sync RAMDB. It causes differences in RAMDB. To avoid the differences, RAMDB backup for both SOLVEs should be used.

When it is not required to work both SOLVEs, a backup of RAMDB can be done for just one of SOLVEs. When another SOLVE is started, SOLVE syncs RAMDBs with the resource update information. There are no needs to have backup for both SOLVEs.
