After logging into client, error "Received fatal alert: certificate_unknown" is seen

Issue/Introduction

After logging into the Java Client, an RMI error window appears and shows the following error:

ErrorMsg: AwE-5102 Agent error
Details: Received fatal alert: certificate_unknown
466ef9b1[SSL_NULL_WITH_NULL_NULL: Socket[addr=/10.0.0.1,port=61867,localport=1099]]

Environment

Release : 9.4.x

 

Cause

This error is most commonly seen when a User tries to log into the Java client, but the Java client can not find user_keystore and user_keystore_config files in the required directory.

The IP address listed in the error is the IP address of the User's PC

Resolution

If needed, work with your Network team to identify the User by the IP address listed in the error message.

The User needs to make sure that the user_keystore and user_keystore files are found in the below directory:

C:\Users\<your username>\Appworx\<MASTERNAME>\
or
%userprofile%\Appworx\<MASTERNAME>\
