MAAUDIT CC=16 After SNT6780 Apply Steps

Issue/Introduction

I installed a series of PTFs in all of my complexes in recent weeks.  I received a CC=16 in the MAAUDIT step after the SNT6780 apply steps in the apply job for my very last complex.  Three more PTF apply steps followed and due to CC logic the MAADIT steps were all bypassed.  Even though the PTFs were completely applied, this left the status of the PTFs in "Applying".  I reset the status for each and reapplied so all are now marked as applied.

Since the MAAUDIT step writes no diagnostic information to the job log, it isn't apparent as to what happened. Can you tell me what the potential causes may be for a CC=16 from MAAUDIT?

Resolution

Here is a list of possible return codes and description return from the MAAUDIT program.

   RETURN CODE PASSED :          
                                            
     0         OPERATION SUCCESSFUL         
    12         UNABLE TO OPEN DATA SET      
    16         STOW OF MEMBER FAILED        
    20         PARAMETER ERROR              
    24         ESTAE INITIALIZATION ERROR   

Based on the description of RC 16, it failed during stow of member. 
Most likely due to insufficient directory blocks in the SYSUT1 dataset in the MAAUDIT step which is sp.PSP.CNTL.
