Endpoint Protection

In Symantec Endpoint Protection for Linux, versions 14.3 MP1 and earlier, it was possible to manually trigger a LiveUpdate with the command, '/opt/Symantec/symantec_antivirus/sav liveupdate -u'.

In versions 14.3 RU1 and later, this option is missing.

Linux Endpoints with the Symantec Endpoint Protection client installed.

Navigate to /usr/lib/symantec/ on the endpoint and run / followed by ./ The agent will attempt to run LiveUpdate upon start.

The ability to run liveupdate -u is expected to be restored with version 14.3 RU3.
