Issue/Introduction

The Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS CDBALOAD load library delivered is stored in a PDSE data set.
PDSE data sets containing program objects are not supported by the IBM AMATERSE utility. There is no error message
in the IBM AMATERSE UNPACK utility output but the unpacked load library is corrupted and not usable.

What are the steps to send the CDBALOAD dataset in PDSE format to technical support for analysis if requested?

Resolution

To send the Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS CDBALOAD load library to technical support the TSO TRANSMIT
command should be used to convert the PDSE data set.

In your TSO session first run a TSO TRANSMIT command in ISPF Command Shell (Option 6 COMMAND) to create a XMIT data set:

TSO TRANSMIT (X.Y) DSNAME('highlvl.CDBALOAD') OUTDSNAME('highlvl.XMIT')

The format of the command is TSO TRANSMIT (node.userid)...

node: JES2 node name.
userid: TSO User-Id.

But in this case the only purpose of the command is to compress the PDSE data set so you can specify any name for these parameters.

The TSO TRANSMIT command will create a sequential data set with a fixed record length:

Organization . . . : PS
Record format . . . : FB
Record length . . . : 80
Block size . . . . : 3120

Then terse the OUTDSNAME data set and transfer this data set in binary to our Broadcom Support Secure FTP Server.

Technical Support will then perform a TSO RECEIVE after untersing the data set.
