WA DE upgrade to 12.3

Issue/Introduction

Customer is planning the WA DE Server upgrade from 12.0 to 12.3 and also migrate the database from SQL Server to Oracle.

They would like to know if there is any issue on performing this migration at once, i.e. both WA DE and database.

Environment

Release : 12.0

Component : CA WORKLOAD AUTOMATION DE (DSERIES)

Resolution

Cross database migration is supported so you can migrate from WA DE 12.0 with SQL database to DE 12.3 with Oracle database using the migration utility.

Also, cross Operating System (OS) migration is supported.

Steps:

1. Install new server with DE Server 12.3 and Oracle database.

2. Run the migration utility to migrate from DE Server 12.0 that is configured with SQL Server database to the new DE Server 12.3 with Oracle database.

Note that the migration utility does not migrate active data like application generations in Monitor view but artifacts, global variables and history data only.
