Issue/Introduction

Below is a message that comes into question we have seen at IPL. Is this informational or do we need to take some sort of corrective action?   This occurred on all 5 LPARS at IPL.

 

IEF196I OPS4627S DD_OPSLOG data set  failed to activate and will
IEF196I continue as an in-storage replacement

Environment

Cause

The OPSLOG has most likely become corrupted.  

Resolution

Our recommendation is to allocate a new OPSLOG and then point to it.   Use the **.CCLXCNTL(DEFDIV) member to allocate the new log.
