Export to file fails silently

Issue/Introduction

When exporting a list of incidents or events from the ICA console, no file is downloaded and no error message is displayed. This failure occurs using any browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, etc.).

Cause

This can be caused by the presence of certain hexadecimal characters (e.g., vertical tab) in the data set to be exported.

Resolution

Export functionality for data sets matching the description in the Cause section of this article is fixed in 6.5.4 MP1 HF2.

If the error message "Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "MSOLAP" for linked server "RiskFabric_ASDB"." is captured in the RiskFabric server log but step 19 (Calculate Risk Scores) of the RiskFabric Processing job is completing successfully and the Data In Motion dashboards load properly, restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service on the application server and the SQL Server service on the database server.
