Jaspersoft HTTP Status 404 Error

In order to prepare Jaspersoft server upgrade (7.1.3 to 7.8) , few changes were made on Jaspersoft environments: 

1. Oracle upgrade - Oracle12.1 to 19 c

2. Replicating Jaspersoft Server config from PROD to DEV 

Since the changes the Jaspersoft report service is not coming up and displays back HTTP Status 404 - Not Found

Catalina logs indicate a certain JDBC connection issue:

ERROR JDBCExceptionReporter,localhost-startStop-1:101 [] - Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor


Clarity15.9.2 and Jaspersoft 7.8 Server


The JDBC connection parameters for the Jaspersoft service was not done correctly. The Database connection parameters can be validated from the context.xml i.e. $JSTomcat \webapps\reportservice\META-INF\context.xml

The service name was entered with a colon (:)  --    jdbc:oracle:thin:@//[HOST][:PORT]: SERVICE

There are two ways to set the JDBC URL. If you have an SID, use this (older) format:


If you have an Oracle service name, use this (newer) format:


Additional Information

If any recent changes on the Jaspersoft server, ensure those have been submitted correctly and you have run the SyncPPM command. (See: Jaspersoft Commands in accordance with Clarity version)
