Issue/Introduction

After install of BSI 8.3.5.5, Custom Attributes and Translation Scripts return an error when opening. The system log reports an error from AttributesManager:

Unable to connect to DB : error opening key Dir: SOFTWARE HRESULT: 5 [Thread: 3136] [CDBConnection pointer:0x1f9c7c40]

Inner exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x83E703EB)

Resolution

In IIS Manager, the Oblicore_Guarantee website uses the "BsiAppPool" app pool. This was running as the default "AppPoolIdentity" user - it should be set to the same Administrator user that the rest of BSI runs as, otherwise the interprocess communication to the App Server fails.
