Can OPS/MVS send events to ServiceNow using NIM and SMREQ?

Issue/Introduction

Just to make 100% sure. We have a client that need a solution towards the event module (not incident module) in ServiceNow (SNow).  Is it possible to send events (not incidents) to ServiceNow using NIM and SMREQ?
