Orphaned applications and jobs in database after cold start

Issue/Introduction

After clearing active applications, purgecompletedjobs, movehistorydata and purgehomelessjobaetdata, there are still jobs in the esp_generic_job where there the end_date_time is NULL and the state is not in a finished state (failed, complete, suberror).

Environment

Release : 12.x

Component : CA WORKLOAD AUTOMATION DE (DSERIES)

Resolution

In Desktop Client:

• Navigate to Admin Perspective
• Right Click on the Primary Server and choose "Configure Instance Parameters" 
• Expand Internal and click on the Show Advanced icon
• Scroll down and locate the configuration property "Remove incomplete applications history at cold start"
• Toggle the value to "true" (Default is false)
• Once set, shutdown DE Server and perform cold start. This should clear out all of the incomplete applications that you are concerned about.
