What is the effect of having PERMDSN in the CA 7 INIT File?
The PERMDSN=YES parm on the OPTIONS statement specifies whether all data sets added to the database defaults to permanent. The default is NO.
If you specify PERMDSN=YES, data sets added through the LOAD processing and through the DB.6 panel default to PERM. The DB.3.1 panel shows a PERM value of N. However, the job does not consider the data set as a requirement because the DB.6 panel shows the PERM status.
Another option would be to not LOAD the job's JCL to the CA 7 Database, if all datasets are input datasets. You can accomplish this by setting the RELOAD option to 'X' on the DB.1 panel.
