During the install for Optimizer/II r8.5, what happened to the CAICICS dataset? This dataset was present during the r7 install. Did it go away or was it merged into something else?
Release: Optimizer/II
For the installation of Optimizer/II r7.0, there was the creation of a library called CAI.CAICICS. Optimizer/II r8.5 introduced Mainframe Software Manager to standardize and automate the installation process. One of these standardized libraries is CARXLOAD, and the members of CAICICS dataset were moved into it.
The names of many Optimizer/II installation libraries have remained unchanged over many releases. With release 8.5 the following three installation libraries have changed:
Release 7 Name* Release 8.5 name** CAI.CAICICS yourHLQ.CARXLOAD CAI.PPOPTION yourHLQ.CARXJCL CAI.SAMPJCL Not required if installing the product using CA MSM
* Refer to the CA-Optimizer/II Getting Started r7sp1, Chapter 2: System Requirements
** Refer to the CA Optimizer/II Installation Guide r8.5, Chapter 2: Preparing for Installation
The CAICICS dataset in r7 held CAO* members that are now found in CARXLOAD in r8.5.
The members of the PPOPTION dataset in r7 are now found in CARXJCL in r8.5.
SAMPJCL in r7 held example JCL required for the installation of Optimizer/II. SAMPJCL will be provided if the product is installed via Pax-Enhanced ESD, or from Tape.
