Issue/Introduction

You are trying to find out more information about the Operating System that Messaging Gateway is installed on and if it is possible to update it.

Resolution

As of Messaging Gateway 10.7,10.8, and 10.9.0 the Messaging Gateway uses a custom Operating System based on Cent OS 7.

NOTE:
The end user is unable to update the OS on SMG. This limitation arises from the fact that SMG is constructed on a Linux system that has been extensively customized by our engineering team. Any attempt to update or alter internal services within SMG without the engineering team's awareness may adversely affect the appliance's functionality. However, we strongly recommend keeping the appliance updated with our latest version, as each release includes improved security measures to enhance overall system security.
