Issue/Introduction

Interpretation of “VirusDefinitionDateFileTime” data located under “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\SMSMSE\7.9\Server\Stats\ServerInfo”.  

Environment

SMSMSE version: 7.9.x and 7.10

Resolution

The attached tool prints the value in CSV format:

For the Remote Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE)

Following is the usage of tool.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
==>smsmse_tool.exe

Get the virus definition date from Local/Remote SMSMSE server's registry key.
Stores the def dates in 'result.csv' file and prints on console in comma separated format.


For Local server.
E.g. smsmse_tool.exe LS

For Remote server.
E.g. smsmse_tool.exe RS <RemoteServerHostName>
For Text file input (add server names line by line)
E.g. smsmse_tool.exe FS <FileName>
E.g. fileServer.txt

Following is the 'result.csv' file format
E.g. <Loca/Remote Server>, <SMSMSE v7.9/v7.10>, <Virus Def Date>
