Can you hot swap a hard drive in a Security Analytics S500 appliance?
A hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced in the main S500 unit.
Do I have to power off the appliance before replacing the hard drive.
The S500-series appliance for Security Analytics is does have the capability to hot swap the hard drives. The system does not need to be shut down or powered off. Before replacing any hard drives in the appliance, it is best to confirm the status of the RAID before removing any hard drives. If the logical raid volume is degraded and the wrong disk is removed, you risk losing all data on the appliance. Contact technical support for assistance with diagnosing failed hard drives.
