Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to install / using Symantec Advanced Authentication in Cloud?

If it is supported, is it compatible with any specific solution?

Environment

Release : 9.x

Component :

  • Symantec Strong Authentication (Arcot WebFort)
  • Symantec Risk Authentication (Arcot RiskFort)

Resolution

Symantec Advanced Authentication products can be installed on the cloud platform. Here is more information about recommendations and tested Cloud platforms.

Support on Cloud

Advanced Authentication Release 9.1 and later releases are supported on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform and the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform.
Consider the following information when hosting Advanced Authentication on the cloud:
  • For optimal performance, host the Advanced Authentication database within the same environment as the Advanced Authentication server components. For example, hosting the database and the application servers on premise and hosting the flow manager on the cloud can significantly increase the general response time.
  • Enable the ports that are related to Advanced Authentication as well as traffic in the respective network.
For Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments, ensure that the IP address is resolvable across the respective domains to enable proper communication between the Broadcom products.
For example, you can resolve the IP address by updating the host file, providing the DNS server details. Optionally, you can navigate to EC2 config, Service settings, EC2 Service properties and select the Set Computer Name option.
