Issue/Introduction

We noticed High CPU utilization 99-100% on Clarity, how can we determine what is the cause of this?

Component : CLARITY INTEGRATIONS & INSTALLATIONS

Resolution

There is no way to determine what caused the problem in the past. If this happens again:

  • Note which node has the problem
  • Connect to it, note the CPU/RAM taken
  • Check which process takes high CPU - app, bg or other
  • If app/bg, collect the heap dump on the affected service as per: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?articleId=140774
  • Provide it to Support for review.
  • Note any unusual activity happening at this time as well such as large imports, data extracts etc. and provide this information as well
  • Provide app-ca and app-system for app and bg-ca bg-system for bg (depending on affected service, together with the heap dump)
